Is it right you cannot play dedicated series x games off a usb hard drive or usb ssd? You need to buy a proprietary hard drive that slots in the back :-think

You need to buy the external NVME SSD that exclusively only Seagate will provide at launch. Later down the line maybe other manufacturers will make them but you just know Seagate will be charging over the top for these expansion drives while they have exclusive rights.

You can plug your existing usb drives in and it will play xbox one and 360 games just not solely designed series x games as they need the faster data rate.

It always gives me a bad feeling in my gut when I see a proprietary port on a device labelled "expansion"

1. It's never going to be used
or
2. Whatever is available to be plugged in is going to cost and arm and a leg to buy

At least it still has a wired ethernet port. Most devices are doing away with that.

I wish they went with at least 2TB internal. 1TB is lame in these times of games being over 100GB.
