This is beyond stupid! Glad now that I only ever uploaded one video to Youtube instead of thousands of videos that some users are manually updating :-lol

Say as an adult you did a LEGO video not aimed at kids but for adult collectors and you swore a few times throughout the video would you mark that for

yes, made for kids
or
no, not made for kids

because the way they frame the rules, if you mark a video not for kids which is about a subject a kid may be interested in and may click on then you break the rules and could get fined (and kids will obviously be attracted to lego)

If you mark a video made for kids and you swore in the video you break the rules again :-lol

The bigger point here is Google and YouTube have broken the law for years now tracking and targeting ads on children because of greed and profit.

This decision is actually going to make Youtube worse for children as creators are now going to up the level of adult mature themes in their videos so as to not be branded child targeted. Children being children and parents being useless the children will be now be watching even more adult content on Youtube but they won't be getting a targeted ad so that makes it all fine :-roll

Chillax if you don't live in America. The FTC have no power over you, cannot take you to court and cannot fine you jack shit. The worst that could happen is your youtube channel gets deleted and maybe your google account if you were stupid enough to use your main google account with youtube.
