Do you think it's worth trying the clamp method on this 360 (Gaming - Microsoft)

Xbox 360 red light top left, bottom left, bottom right. I followed a guide to get the error code by pressing the sync and eject four times and the code is 0022. Is it worth trying the clamp method on this code?

Save your money and time just buy another working one preferably a slim. Replacing the xclamps will only work for so long before getting problems again.

I followed this method and it did not work

This was before I knew about pressing the sync and eject buttons to get the error code and my error code was the same as yours 0022

The gpu or cpu or both need reballing which is a relatively massive job and not worth it if you do not have the expensive equipment to do it.

0022 I think is past the point of just overheating the cpu and gpu hoping it will make a connection to the board again. 0022 is bin time or better yet keep for spares and buy another one.

Decided to get a slim Instead. Does the slim have any major problems I need to look out for?

This is my history with the 360

  • had the original launch white one with just the AV port on the back = Red Ringed
  • purchased updated white one that had av and hdmi ports on the back = Red Ringed
  • purchased the black elite version = still working and going strong to this day :-cool

The Internals must have been updated on the 360 Elite version so If you prefer the original outer casing over the shiny slim version go with the 360 Elite.
