Did Alien Covenant have the most obvious ending ever? (Movies)

David's hair gradually morphed into the same style as Walter's during the film until the end fight scene with the two both having the same hairstyle then we cut away without seeing who wins the fight :-roll

Just wondering if the script writer thought this was going to be an amazing twist :-think

When they cut away from the David / Walter fight I turned to my friend and said "That's David going back to the main ship now and I bet as she (Daniels) is being put to cryosleep just as she is closing her eyes she will notice somehow that it's David and not Walter then the end credits will roll and sure enough ..........

Wouldn't Daniels know that Walter was a self healing android? So why at the end did she offer to staple his face wound and not realise it was David?

It must have been the dumbest space crew in history. Some of the decisions they made were downright Idiotic. Just for example I don't know their names but one woman (a) locks another woman (b) and a man in a room on the drop ship because she see's him spitting blood. woman (a) won't let woman (b) out of the room

woman (a) runs off crying and calls for help, woman (a) then runs back to the room see's an alien burst out of the man's back and start eating woman (b) only then does woman (a) open the door! Why!

Then woman (a) comically slips on blood then she runs away shooting and hitting everything but the Alien then hits a load of conveniently placed gas canisters.

And another one. The captain finds out the droid has gone insane yet follows the droid down into this dark dungeon filled with alien eggs then the droid tells him to look inside one and the captain just does it without any hesitation even though a couple minutes ago the captain was going to shoot the droid because he didn't trust it.

Stupidity hit all time high for me when the remaining crew on the colonist ship decides to risk the ship and all it's thousands of colonists to fly down to the planet to save only a few crew members.

Prometheus was way better, I was pissed they got rid of Elizabeth Shaw :-tothehand and yes the ending was bang on the nose.

Even though Covenant was more like your typical Aliens movie I still preferred Prometheus for some reason. And yes the ending was Obvious I called it too.

Why did the ship not know David came aboard instead of Walter?

I thought the writers were going to make you think david and walter had switched but they didn't really and walter would save daniels from the alien near the end like bishop with ripley but then again the colonization crew on the main ship would need to be Infected for Alien / Aliens to come about.
